New Zealand won the toss and chose to field first against Pakistan

New Zealand have won the toss and elected to field first in the fifth T20I against Pakistan. The visitors have the opportunity to level the series with a win at the Pindi Cricket Ground. “You never quite know what a good total is on this surface, and we’d like to have a score on the board to chase,” New Zealand captain Tom Latham said. They have made two changes to their side. Matt Henry sits out with illness, while Cole McConchie is benched. James Neesham and Blair Tickner replace them.
Pakistan captain Babar Azam said he wanted to bat first anyway, though Pakistan did field first when they won the toss at this venue last game. Needing a positive result to seal the series, the home team also made two changes. Fakhar Zaman and Zaman Khan miss out, replaced by wicketkeeper batter Mohammad Haris and fast bowler Ihsanullah, who plays his first match of the series.

Pakistan: Babar Azam (capt), Mohammad Rizwan (wk), Mohammad Haris, Saim Ayub, Shadab Khan, Iftikhar Ahmed, Imad Wasim, Faheem Ashraf, Shaheen Shah Afridi, Haris Rauf, Ihsanullah

New Zealand: Tom Latham (capt & wk), Chad Bowes, Will Young, Daryl Mitchell, Mark Chapman, James Neesham, Rachin Ravindra, Adam Milne, Blair Tickner, Ish Sodhi, Henry Shipley
