Toss India chose to bowl vs West Indies

India captain Harmanpreet Kaur won the toss and chose to bowl against West Indies in the final league game of the women’s T20I tri-series at Buffalo Park.
Fast bowler Renuka Singh, who missed all of India’s previous games in the series, returned to the XI replacing left-arm spinner Radha Yadav. Apart from Renuka, India have Shikha Pandey and Pooja Vastrakar as seam-bowling options. Vastrakar had made a comeback in the previous game, having last played a T20I in October 2022.

West Indies, on the other hand, picked all four of the Under-19 T20 World Cup players that they had brought in just ahead of this clash. Allrounders Zaida James and Djenaba Joseph, wicketkeeper Trishan Holder and fast bowler Jannillea Glasgow were brought in as cover for Stafanie Taylor, Chinelle Henry, Shakera Selman and Chedean Nation, who are all recovering from injury.

Aaliyah Alleyne, who had opened the batting after Deandra Dottin’s retirement last year, replaced Britney Cooper in the XI.
