Toss West Indies chose to field against India
West Indies won the toss and put India in to bat after rain delayed the start of the fourth T20I of the series by 45 minutes. Nicholas Pooran, the West Indies captain, said he wanted his bowlers to use any moisture that might have set in because of the weather.
While West Indies were unchanged, India made three changes to their playing XI. There was no update on whether the changes were forced by fitness issues, though. Axar Patel, Ravi Bishnoi and Sanju Samson came in for R Ashwin, Hardik Pandya and Shreyas Iyer. That left India with a thin batting line-up and a long tail. Harshal Patel continued to miss out, which must raise questions over his fitness.
West Indies need to win this match to stay alive in the series – they are 2-1 down – and have a chance of winning their first series against India in any format since 2016.
This is the 11th international between two ICC Full-Member countries in Lauderhill in Florida.
