Toss Sri Lanka chose to bowl vs Australia

Sri Lanka won the toss and chose to bowl again in Sydney, although they had lost comfortably while chasing on Friday.
With Binura Fernando – their best seamer from the first match – unwell for this game, the visitors will hand a debut to round-arm seamer Nuwan Thushara, who impressed in the Lanka Premier League late last year. The rest of their XI from Friday remains in place, with Dushmantha Chameera and Chamika Karunaratne the other quicks.

Maheesh Theekshana and the newly-minted IPL millionaire Wanindu Hasaranga are Sri Lanka’s spin options.

Australia have also made one change to their XI from Friday, resting Mitchell Starc and bringing in right-arm fast bowler Kane Richardson. He comes in to the series with some form, having taken 19 wickets in the recently-concluded Big Bash League.

Australia: 1 Aaron Finch (capt.), 2 Ben McDermott, 3 Josh Inglis, 4 Glenn Maxwell, 5 Steven Smith, 6 Marcus Stoinis, 7 Matthew Wade (wk), 8 Pat Cummins, 9 Adam Zampa, 10 Kane Richardson, 11 Josh Hazlewood
