Toss Bangladesh won the toss and chose to bat against Pakistan

Bangladesh won the toss and opted to bat first in the first international fixture for them, as well as their opponents Pakistan, since the T20 World Cup. Bangladesh named three pace bowlers – Taskin Ahmed, Mustafizur Islam and Shoriful Islam – in their XI as well as legspinner Aminul Islam for the game in Dhaka. They have also handed a T20I debut to top-order batters Saif Hassan. Nurul Hasan will keep wickets with Mushfiqur Rahim dropped from the squad.
The big news on the Pakistan front was the decision to give Shaheen Shah Afridi a bit of time off, which has paved the way for fast bowler Mohammad Wasim Jnr to get into the XI. Haider Ali, too, featured in the middle order after having warmed the bench during the T20 World Cup campaign. Mohammad Nawaz and Khushdil Shah have made the cut for this game too.
