Ireland chose to bowl v Zimbabwe

In muggy conditions, Andy Balbirnie put Zimbabwe in to bat as both Ireland and Zimbabwe seek to gain important points in the World Cup Super League. Ireland are currently in the automatic qualification zone, in eighth place, and could move into the top five. Zimbabwe, on the other hand, are at the bottom of the table, with just one win from six matches.

Zimbabwe have pulled out the big guns for this match, with Brendan Taylor, Sean Williams and Sikandar Raza all included in the team, after missing out on the T20Is. They have opted for a three-seam attack in Blessing Muzarabani, Richard Ngarava and Luke Jongwe, with at least four spin bowling options.
Ireland welcome back William Porterfield, who struggled with a finger injury in the South Africa series, to make up a strong top four. George Dockrell is expected to bat in the top five, and bowl some spin, with Simi Singh and Andy McBrine the other spin options. Mark Adair, Craig Young and Josh Little make up the pace pack.

Ireland: 1 William Porterfield, 2 Paul Stirling, 3 Andrew Balbirnie (capt), 4 Harry Tector, 5 George Dockrell, 6 Simi Singh, 7 Lorcan Tucker, 8 Andy McBrine, 9 Mark Adair, 10 Craig Young, 11 Josh Little
