Toss Ireland opted to field against Sri Lanka

Ireland have opted to field first against Sri Lanka in their Group A fixture.

The two unbeaten sides in the group will go head-to-head in Dubai, knowing that a win will pretty much guarantee them a place in the Super 12s.

It’s the same surface on which Namibia chased down 164 earlier in the day against Netherlands, and is likely to be more conducive to run-scoring than the track on which the Sri Lanka vs Namibia fixture was played a couple of days ago.

Sri Lanka were unchanged from that side, while Craig Young replaced Ben White for Ireland.

Sri Lanka: 1 Pathum Nissanka, 2 Kusal Perera (wk), 3 Dinesh Chandimal, 4 Avishka Fernando, 5 Bhanuka Rajapaksa, 6 Dasun Shanaka (capt), 7 Chamika Karunaratne, 8 Wanindu Hasaranga, 9 Dushmantha Chameera, 10 Maheesh Theekshana, 11 Lahiru Kumara

Ireland: 1 Paul Stirling, 2 Kevin O’Brien, 3 Andy Balbirnie (capt), 4 Gareth Delany, 5 Curtis Campher, 6 Harry Tector, 7 Neil Rock (wk), 8 Simi Singh, 9 Mark Adair, 10 Josh Little, 11 Craig Young
